hello and welcome to another episode of zwix flick the edwick podcast I'm your host Ryan and with me for really for all
0:32
intents of purposes the second to last episode of my minseries journey of zwick's films the studio films that made
0:39
it to the theater I've got with me returning three time now guest co-host Craig how you doing all right Ryan thank
0:46
you it's always great to sit down and chat movies with you it's always a fun time so thanks again well you are uh a
0:54
true pleasure to podcast with one because you're good at it two your opinions and insights are uh
1:00
and well thought out I know you don't research I know you don't take notes but you're just so natural at it yeah and then Doug will be returning for his a
1:08
third and final episode with trial by fire which I have not seen so today
1:13
though today we're covering another Tom Cru film that's why you picked this I believe is because it why did you pick
1:20
this first or last Samurai I can't remember now I'm pretty sure I picked Last Samurai first I think Pawn
1:26
sacrifice was the last movie I I picked it was like I'll do this and I'll do jack Creer and then I think you were
1:31
like oh I need somebody to do pawn sacrificing you know me I'm never one to
1:36
be afraid of an assignment and if I remember correctly regarding our Pawn sacrifice review that
1:42
again people go listen to if you haven't already you weren't well we both weren't we weren't too crazy about that film so
1:49
was this viewing of Jack Reacher maybe more fun for you overall I think in the
1:54
last year I've watched never go back this Jack Reacher sequel last night when I watched it was the third time in the
2:00
past year that I've watched it probably like this time last year I watched it just for fun I I don't think I'd ever
2:06
seen it so I was like oh let me watch never go back it's on Paramount plus and then when I knew we were doing this
2:12
episode I watched it again probably three weeks ago okay but then you told
2:17
me you watched the first movie and I was like [ __ ] let me go watch the first movie and then I watched the first movie
2:22
and I was like well damn now I have to watch never go back again just to make sure that I don't right get the two
2:29
movies mixed up so fair enough oh wow okay you really have given Paramount
2:34
plus some of their viewership for this film it's not this isn't a hard movie to watch I think we ultimately concluded with Pawn sacrifice was that it was just
2:41
such a missed opportunity yeah there oh that's right we said at the end there that they
2:46
should have focused on the last twom minute prologue they did yeah they
2:51
should have made that the film the whole conspiratorial stuff him in Exile that would have been a much more fascinating film and maybe that film has yet to be
2:57
made put it that way it's one that can still be made okay oh yeah all right so let's get into we uh if you haven't dear
3:04
listener already heard our thoughts overall regarding Tom Cruz we're gonna get into him again we we'll save him for
3:09
last when we do our cast review but go check out our Last Samurai episode where we gave our praises and thoughts on Tom
3:16
Cruz and Tom Cruz interacting with edwick because it's going to be a little bit shorter regarding him today just
3:21
because you know we've already done that but we will repeat a couple things but we'll start with the fact the film came
3:26
out in 2016 of course is based on the book series by Lee Child this is an
3:33
author who who's what's another character like a Tom Clancy type character like a Jack Ryan type or
3:40
what's another one I had another one in my brain that that has well like if you go back to 60s and 70s you got like M
3:46
ban James Bond the Executioner The Specialist there you go yeah yeah right
3:53
it's it's in that vein it's the lone sort of traveler it's kind of like the template they use for the Incredible
3:58
Hulk too oh the show in the 70s every week he was in a different town and he
4:04
was solving a different mystery and then he traveled on or also what Highway to Heaven I don't know if you remember that TV show I yes of course yeah yeah so the
4:12
Jack Reacher novel series I haven't read any of them I I assume they're popular
4:17
oh they're very popular I've read one of them I read the first one and I kind of
4:23
said I'm good I I understand I understand the concept but yeah it's a long running series 29 books I just
4:30
looked up 29 yeah and actually I think they've switched authors at this point Lee Child was the original author and I
4:38
think in the last couple of installments his brother has actually taken over oh
4:44
wow which isn't really that rare for lack of a better term men's Adventure
4:50
fiction there's authors that have died and there's still books coming out written by other authors characters
4:56
outlive their creations and uh I guess that's a good thing yeah like Conan Sherlock Holmes those
5:02
type of books so Jack Reacher the character very popular novel form so it only makes sense that he would have a
5:08
shot at the at films before we talk about this film let's talk about the first film Jack Reacher and that came
5:14
out 2012 I believe yeah and it was directed by the mission impossible guy
5:21
Christopher mcari Christopher mcar and Tom Cruz are pretty much they're pretty much best buddies regarding film are
5:28
they not now like that's they're kind of like Partners more or less Chris mccar his big break was the usual suspects he
5:34
wrote that yes that's correct he actually wrote a movie before they called Public Access which film directed
5:40
by Brian yeah it was Brian singer's debut film and then Usual susp Suspects was the basically Public Access was in
5:48
Quint Tarantino world was his Reser and The Usual Suspects was the Pulp Fiction yeah I was trying to remember when him
5:54
and singer broke off but then he went and did like way of the gun which was his sporal debut he he a big script
6:00
doctor prior to getting into directing he was just doctoring a lot of scripts which for people who may not know you
6:08
know Ryan writes a script that Joel Silver buys and says oh man I love this script but then it goes through a dozen
6:16
Studio notes and Ryan's like I I'm just not equipped to do this so they bring in
6:21
a script Doctor Who will just do a punch-up an uncredited punch-up on the script they'll give him x amount of
6:27
dollars and sometimes it's a dialogue polish Tarantino has done a bunch of yes
6:33
in the late 90s if you remember Crimson Tide there's a lot of very like that's right there's a lot of Tarantino esque
6:40
dialogue in there and it's because Tarantino wrote it that's awesome I love I don't know how he I don't know how him
6:45
and Cruz connected because it seems like the Mission Impossible movies they
6:51
made what and they made what like four of them at this point so they connected on the film Valkyrie is my guess Cu uh
6:57
he wrote and produced right yeah the plot to kill Hitler yeah that's okay I'll just say this what Tom again he was
7:04
great in that film that's a great film yeah the cool thing about that is and I've seen this technique done before it
7:11
starts with Tom Cruz writing in his journal right in German and you hear German you hear a German voice over and
7:18
it slowly transitions to English so it's like done that a few times they did that in a movie we just did I did with
7:24
somebody on another podcast actually was a guest on another podcast forget the name of it I'm sorry but they probably don't listen to this show so doesn't
7:30
matter anyways where I did The Hunt for Red October yeah no it's a great technique I think it's a great cinematic
7:36
technique that's like hey we all know they're speaking German right we don't want a two-hour movie where everybody's
7:41
speaking German and 90% of the audience is gonna have to read subtitles right yeah it's like we get it this is now
7:47
Sean Conor now has a Scottish accent but's he's a Russian submarine Captain just get over it okay let him act with
7:53
his Scottish accent like who cares you know what I mean so anyways he wrote
7:58
valkrie produced that and did singer direct that oh yes he did yeah direct that okay
8:06
that's still the singer mcquary connection but now Tom Cruz has entered the mix then mcquary went on to write
8:12
the tourist then he wrote and directed Jack Reacher okay the first film but at this
8:19
time he had yet to direct Mission possible his first directing film with Tom was Jack Reacher in 2012 and then he
8:26
wrote Edge of Tomorrow for Tom okay based on the graphic novel and then he
8:31
directed mission of possible Rogue nation in 2015 with Tom it feels like Jack reisher was probably a test
8:37
obviously you can do this kind of movie we can give you the mission impossible
8:43
budget so well why don't we talk briefly about the first Jack Reacher film I Didn't Know Jack Reacher from whoever as
8:50
a character in the novels but of course in 2012 the internet was alive and well I heard chatter right away because
8:55
people love to be critical the one thing I love about the internet is how critical everyone is this is so fantastic to read complaining and
9:02
negativity isn't that fantastic about everything it's fantastic so one of the things that people said right away was
9:08
Tom Cruz is too short to play Jack Reacher and look I get it if you're a fan of the books I understand it this is
9:13
the character you have in your mind I would also say Tom Cruz has never dialed in a performance oh yeah so regarding
9:21
the Jack Reacher character not knowing what Jack Reacher was like as a physical presence in the novels I watched that
9:27
film as a great action spy and I quite enjoyed that first film you oh absolutely we've since gotten the Jack
9:34
Reacher TV show on Amazon if you look at the Jack Reacher on paper it's a stereotype big buff guy who doesn't talk
9:41
a lot Tom Cruz and and mcar are both intelligent enough to realize that you
9:48
don't have to play into the tropes all the time and Lee Child it might have been they gave him enough money but Lee
9:54
Child even signed off on it he was like hey this is kind of cool but I'm sure Lee Child saw the opportunity to be like
10:00
wow I'm going to sell even more books so it's better for me to you know be yay Tom Cruz is opposed to yeah it's a bad
10:06
choice I guarantee you at least one book was bought because a Tom Cruz fan bought the novel oh yeah absolutely you can
10:14
even look at Daniel Craig his James Bond yeah the J Daniel Craig does Bond blonde
10:20
Bond wasn't yeah he doesn't resemble James Bond very much at all although I
10:25
will say this in the novels James Bond is sort of
10:30
he's not really handsome in Deon Aire he's sort of presented as looking like a
10:36
thugra he fit that mold a little bit better than let's say Pierce brosman sure yeah very deonar yeah dear but that
10:44
first Jack Reacher it's a cool movie to watch and there's some really cool sequences you've got that bathroom fight
10:51
which is such a cool sequence it's fighting in an enclosed space there's
10:57
just enough comedy there but it's still a satisfying action uh piece and then
11:04
got W hog playing a bad guy oh my goodness yeah the prisoner and then you've got a pretty good car chase even
11:10
though I remember after seeing that movie in theaters I chatted with my dad about it who was a big fan of the books
11:16
and he's like yeah Jack rer doesn't drive well yeah this is a different
11:21
medium it's a film sure film no but that's a good movie and it makes complete sense that there was a followup
11:27
sure I'm really really surprised that it didn't become a series although I often wonder if Cruz just didn't have the the
11:36
bandwidth to work on another franchise well yeah I was thinking that too had it
11:42
become well yes and no because he tried tackling another franchise with Ed tomor which actually did very well but I don't
11:49
know if it did well enough at the time I think there is some there is some Scuttle but they are doing a sequel to that and he also tried the mummy too
11:56
yeah so he's not opposed to doing other franchises and but for whatever the obviously Top Gun I believe a Top Gun 3
12:02
is actually in the in the work so I it's just oddly enough Jack Reacher maybe
12:08
because he was doing the mission apost maybe it's just too much it's a very similar Lane yeah it was just Ethan Hump
12:14
by a different name maybe and that's not a criticism so much as it's just Ethan Hunt but he's called
12:20
Jack Reacher because there was nothing about the Jack Reacher character played by Tom Cruz but played well where I
12:27
thought to myself Ethan Hunt couldn't do this it was almost like a poor man version to Mission Impossible and it's
12:35
it's not an insult on the films but it's almost like we already have our big Thanksgiving dinner but you're trying to sell me a very yummy grilled cheese
12:41
sandwich and look don't get me wrong it's very yummy I I like grilled cheese sandwiches but I got this turkey Feast here that you're already giving me and
12:47
you're asking me to have both at the same time yeah that's a valid statement yeah
12:52
so that I think that could have been part of the fatigue Tom Cruz has proven despite some of his own as we've said
12:58
before the controversies that surround him he's not boxed off as poison but the projects might be I think Jack Reacher I
13:04
think the negative talk about his height I don't think helped like it's too bad P way if the character in the Jack Reacher
13:12
novels was 5 foot eight with brown hair almost describing Tom Cruz to a te but
13:18
they just called him Jack Reacher in the novels and then he gets cast everyone would be saying oh this is the perfect
13:24
fit I just wish Tom did it when he was younger it's just unfortunate that within the novels this character for 20
13:30
novels at that point had already been established as a 6'3 Behemoth of a character so that negative chatter does
13:35
affect box office yeah but at the same time you almost wonder if there would
13:41
have been a Jack Reacher movie without Tom Cruz like Dolph lungren as Jack Reacher
13:50
we wouldn't get the movie we got at what point does a big lumbering guy or Triple
13:56
H from the WWE as Jack Reacher that's straight to DVD streaming it's not a big
14:03
Paramount sky dance theatrical release so we did mention briefly the TV series
14:10
Reacher that I believe is on Amazon Prime two seasons in third Seasons I just dropped the trailer for the third season have you seen that TV
14:17
show I watched like half of it and I I don't know I'm starting to have a problem with modern TV wow to me Ryan it
14:26
feels like a lot of television shows is just this race to the Finish Line where it's like you the last episode I believe
14:33
or one of our episodes sorry it was for a different podcast but you mentioned I loved your analogy how did you say it
14:38
was like you're basically giving plot points just to get to the end of the 40 minutes yeah yeah yeah you're connecting dots
14:45
and like I mean not to talk about like some great TV shows like Sopranos or the
14:50
wire or Breaking Bad those episodes there's episodes of those individual
14:56
series that I remembered as great episodes of TV where it feels like if you just take a random you know season 4
15:04
episode 6 of Yellowstone nobody's going to remember it whereas you can say oh
15:11
The Sopranos episode Pine Barons people are instantly going to remember paully and Christopher in the woods I never
15:17
thought of it that way right now we're watching Dexter I don't know if you ever seen the show Dexter yeah so we just started the series together I'd already
15:24
seen it but it's been a while and I wanted to watch the Resurrection series that's coming out so I invited my wife honey trust me you'll like it she loves
15:30
it now so I'm rewatching it to get to get caught up so I can watch the new reboot that being said that's a show
15:36
that doesn't do what you're saying there's story lines with each of these characters you just want to know what's happening next but there's no real
15:42
filler but I know what you mean I love Yellowstone but when I objectively looked at the show Yellowstone now I
15:48
know you're saying there's like boy there's a lot of I guess the scenery is really beautiful or the horses are doing
15:53
you know tricks in the arena whatever it is it almost feels like where are we going what is actually happening but
15:59
it's a comfort food now we're talking about meals again it is a comfort food it's a bag of chips it's not supposed to sustain me I'm just I'm CH you can
16:06
almost scrolling your phone a little bit like well that's the thing and and and it gets to like this whole discussion
16:12
about like content versus art yeah and by no means is it not happening I don't
16:17
know if you've ever watched the two seasons of Mind Hunter that's amazing
16:22
television I mean that's not connect the dots television and of course Netflix canel it because it probably was it it
16:30
took people's attention away from their phone exactly exactly there was a headline recently where the edict from
16:36
Netflix for their TV shows and movies was have characters explain what they're
16:42
doing yeah I know so if you're in the kitchen making dinner and you and you have like okay whatever Netflix Show
16:49
streaming you can hear the characters explain this is what I'm doing right now and this is why I'm doing it why are you
16:55
looking in that drawer well I'm looking for evidence for the murder that we that remember the guy that got murdered an
17:01
hour ago yeah at the end of the day Ryan it really comes down to the fact is we're in an age where hey me and you in
17:08
our 20s would have effing love this you have access to everything yeah but at
17:14
the same time when you have access to everything you don't have to watch everything right yeah there's more
17:20
things to watch than there is time in the day to watch it yes oh yeah it's impossible but I will say the wife and I
17:26
watched the first two seasons of Prater and there's not very there're only eight episodes so it's pretty easy that's what
17:31
I liked about it each season is based on a novel so it's eight eight episodes is perfect we quite enjoyed it it's a
17:38
combination of it's a bit of fluff silliness a little bit it doesn't take itself too seriously but it's done well
17:45
it's not boring it's done well and aesthetically yes this Behemoth of the guy what's his name again Allen
17:51
something yeah alen Rich richson yeah he's a big guy and he's good I like him
17:57
so he fits the role and yeah so there you go that's just my little plug for the TV show so that the
18:02
TV show I don't remember anyone scoffing at the idea of this guy playing Jack Reacher he's almost too big actually
18:09
that might be the other thing if I remember correctly around the time that the first Jack Reacher movie came out
18:14
one of the comments was it's really hard for somebody to live the life that Jack Reacher lives
18:21
looking like he does in the books whereas Jack Reacher is very much Off the Grid he he doesn't have a permanent
18:27
home per se he wanders and if you've got this 6'3 250lb guy lumbering through
18:36
your town it's pretty hard to be inconspicuous but if a guy like Tom Cruz
18:42
wanders through your town sheriff teasel isn't going to raise an eyebrow whereas the guy from the TV show does you're
18:48
like wait a minute it might be time to stop this guy and ask him what he's doing here right that's good point yeah
18:53
all right folks you're wondering well what are you guys talk about the film well this is the trouble with this this
18:59
it's because we well we sort of are we have to in a way Craig we have to talk about everything that got to the film
19:06
right because I meaning what I mean by the the novels who directed the film
19:11
before like the first film versus the second film what's the connection and all this why the second film why not a
19:17
third film so now we're at the part where now yes there has been a second film has been green lit Christopher
19:23
mcari has t decided to take a writing producing role the previous film that
19:28
Ed's wi directed was Pawn sacrifice a very lowkey drama heavy lots of talking
19:33
chess movie and maybe he had an itch he doesn't say I'm G to play his Audi book
19:39
at the end don't worry folks we're GNA play the two Snippets he gave us for this movie at the end I wish you got more it's it's frustrating but I
19:46
understand I I understand in his audio book or his book I'm listening to his audio book but in his book that of
19:51
course he talks L about glory and and The Last Samurai and Legends of the Fall
19:56
these are the huge films I get it but it's but for me as a total nerd I'm
20:01
actually almost somewhat more interested in hearing about the films that didn't make it I still want to hear about the
20:08
process of making Jack Reacher to about some of the stunts and the conversation you have with Tom off the side uh you're
20:14
and even Pawn sacrifice was like two sentences like he said he had trouble with Toby I want to hear give me some
20:19
more dirt it's unfortunate that we got literally two sentences for his last three films yeah I almost wonder if it
20:25
was a case of looking for director for this
20:30
movie if Tom didn't say hey I've worked with Wick before I know what I'm getting
20:38
with him I know he can handle the assignment and also it might have also been like you know what he might need
20:44
this movie too I know I was thinking that too was combination of like he hadn't had a blockbuster
20:49
since his last I guess his last Blockbuster was blood diamond in 2006 because Defiance love other drugs and
20:56
pawn sacrifice his next three films I would consider them Blockbusters by no so in the back of my head I was like I
21:02
wonder if it was like two things Tom Cruz is getting somebody he knows he trusts and we'll deliver it but also at
21:08
the same time it's like hey let me throw my buddy a bone too because sure you know it it might be a good way to sort
21:14
of jump start you know and that's a credit to both Ed as well that Tom because Tom is a producer of the film so
21:20
he's gonna Greenlight Ed in a sense so he hires Ed he's like hey Ed you want to you busy you want to handle another
21:27
action film and there's some War element action sequences you've done these before with other films and it probably
21:32
rejuvenated Ed but he doesn't talk about that in the book yeah yeah it's
21:38
unfortunate it might have also been like proximity effect as well it's hard to reflect on something that is still semic
21:45
current the book came out what 2024 2023 yeah I think it was just last year
21:52
so it was it was like still what like seven or eight years that's right who knows when he started writing
21:58
the book so it might have just been one of those things where he hasn't really had time to reflect on it or the publisher might have even been
22:05
like hey nobody's going to care about your thoughts on Pawn sacrifice give us the glory stuff no it's very well said
22:13
so let's talk about the actors in This film funny enough it's one of these films where there's just not a lot
22:19
of actors that I could name a lot of them had the faces oh I've seen that guy
22:24
I've seen that guy and that was a lot of this cast what about you other than the the two top billing
22:32
stars did you know anyone else by yeah well it had the dude for M Hunters oh
22:37
which guy was that what's his name I'm trying to remember his character's name let's see Sam Mor no Sam Morgan is the
22:44
girl the guy with the phone he's making the phone call and Reacher twists his arm he up get killed with the phone yes
22:52
okay yes that dud yeah I forgot his name but he was in M Hunters yeah that's Hol
22:58
melany and his name was Robert pson was Robert y that was ER okay I'm
23:06
such a huge Bight Club fan so he's one of those guys where oh him every time I see this guy to film I always say to in
23:13
my brain his name is Robert bson but yeah he's been a lot of stuff he's a great actor in fact he's returning with
23:19
Tom Cruz for the final mission of possible film this year he's that perfect type of actor where I didn't know his name yeah but you know the face
23:26
but he's got a steady gig he's doing f financially having fun on film but he can still go to Walmart yeah he did a
23:32
show on FX probably 15 years ago with this point called lights out too where he played a
23:39
boxer an old boxer and I I don't think I ever watched the show I've never heard
23:45
of that but my sister worked on it and that's how I remembered it yeah oh yeah
23:50
look at that light I don't know even some of those FX shows are hard to find they might be on like Hulu through
23:55
Disney plus but either way cra yeah he's a he's he's a journeyman actor that's
24:01
the word yeah totally great guy he did a great job he met a an awful demise in
24:07
the film but had it coming he's the first one where I could say oh I know where I've seen him from actor didn't
24:12
know his name as you can see in our episode now I had to look him up and then the main villain referred to as the
24:18
hunter great actor but his name is Patrick hu singer do you recognize him from anything no and I hate to do this
24:26
because it's not fair but the trend in modernish action films is just get the
24:33
abon me and Fitch type looking modelish Taylor kitch type looking in the first
24:40
movie it was Jai Courtney it's just generic model looking guy number two and
24:45
he was fine and I think his performance was good enough that when he gets that
24:52
shot to the face at the end where Reacher says look at me yeah it felt like he earned it and both reer movies
24:59
have great henchmen deaths did he kill the guy at the end of this one oh yeah he broke his neck said I'm going to
25:05
break your arm I'm going to break your leg I'm going to break your neck okay so I should say this I watched the two films with my family and my three
25:12
youngest so 10-year-old twin boy girl and my 13-year-old son I've said this before on The Last Samurai I believe but
25:17
my 10-year-old son is a huge Tom Cruz fan he loves Tom Cruz Tom Cruz is on
25:23
film he just is totally engaged I said hey let's go watch a movie this was last week cuz we watched the first film and I
25:28
turned it on I didn't tell them what I often I'll do that like believe I say it's movie time and I put it right where
25:34
it starts they don't know what they're watching said just just trust dad just trust dad and so it comes up it says a
25:39
Tom Cruz production yeah and as the film started and it wasn't showing Tom you because they're doing the whole
25:45
introduction to Jack Reacher you know they do the whole like talking about who he is before he shows up in the off office there at the beginning of the
25:51
first film my son goes dad is is Tom Cruz in this or is he just directing the
25:56
film so he was getting kind of nervous he's like if I go to see Tom Cruz in this film but I enjoy watching that like
26:02
my son had this fandom of an actor because it's fun to we live like it's cool that he just he can't wait to see
26:07
the next installment in the theaters for the mission imposses every Tom Cruz I've shown him that's you know appropriate
26:12
for a 10-year-old he's the Top Gun films the mission possible films Minority Report Last Samurai the Jack Reacher
26:19
film so we're watching Jack Reacher 2 and he goes what did he say he said oh is she in part three regarding the
26:26
daughter the fake daughter or whatever something to that some question about part three and I'm like there is no part three he still
26:32
used like eight mission possible films he just assumed Tom Cruz would have eight Jack Reacher films I'm like this is it buddy he's like what yeah so he
26:39
can't be alone and people wanted a third Jack Breer film yeah back to the actors
26:45
though regarding now a bit of a tangent there but back to this Patrick hinger guy it's weird Craig he did Jack Reacher
26:52
did a good job I think he did a very serviceable job as a baddy in that film he did a 2018 film called called
26:58
accommodations which is such a low-key film it doesn't even have you know the Wikipedia link like I can't link on any
27:04
information about it and that's it so he hasn't been in a film in seven years wow his last performance on television was
27:10
in three years ago one episode of lawn order yeah so maybe he just retired you
27:18
never know maybe he's got a few million bucks he's retired but it's weird how you kind of have a bit of steady work and it just dries up maybe it's just
27:23
dried up for him what do you think yeah or he found something else to scratch yeah ditch and pay his bills maybe he
27:30
went back to mail modeling who knows yeah sure so again actors names you you
27:36
didn't know the actor names I didn't know we knew one face his name is Robert pson then we had the daughter fake the
27:44
daughter sort of the Homeless girl the pretend assumed a biological daughter danah yuros she was 18 at the time
27:50
playing a 15-year-old what did you think of Danica's performance playing Samantha Jack reachers assumed a biological daughter in the film I'm not a fan of
27:56
that that type of character and that performance I mean it was fine but it
28:03
wrode a line of being like if I was in a worse mood this would really annoy me
28:08
sure which is what the character was supposed to be so no fault of hers but
28:14
that character and that Dynamic has been done like the street smart kid who sure
28:19
but at the same time we get that great bit between her and Jack at the end on the rooftop when he had given her he
28:25
kind of teased her about learning that move earlier in the movie and then of course it pays off of course to the line
28:31
that triggers it so cinematically it did everything it was supposed to do but that's my biggest critique of this movie
28:39
overall is there's a lot of interactions and character interplay
28:46
and scenarios that feel just a little too cliche okay that's fair watching
28:52
this film I asked myself now watching the ewick films as as I've now done I've
28:59
watched up to this point I'm now watching all these films in order so in in a way I'm watching it through the lens of this director like why is Ed
29:05
doing this film what is he what is he bringing what's his vision as a director to this film and it it dawned on me why
29:12
he might have been also asked to do this film and it was apparent right away at the very beginning do you have any
29:18
guests or where where I might be going with I'm not trying to lead the witness but why do you think Ed might have been brought in to direct the second Jack
29:24
Reacher film even Vice the first one let's say for the male female Dynamic
29:30
exactly so that's his Forte he has always been good at loving other drugs
29:36
is a huge example of that that's what it's all about but he's very good at the interpersonal relationships with people
29:41
that's what his blood sweat tears is he's able to handle a large cast very well and I think that was done very well
29:47
in this film so again we had a myriad of characters in this film and Ed has always had the ability for me as a
29:53
viewer of his films where I'm always able to manage who's who in the zoo he does a great job of managing multiple
29:59
characters for me so even better than the first film did for me there was a lot of baddies and Side characters I
30:04
wasn't tracking them as much but Ed has this great ability to make you I don't know if invest is the right word but you
30:10
at least you're following the story and you're understanding who's who in the zoo and why they're there but yeah at
30:17
the very beginning of the film folks Kobe small smolders and Tom Cruz's characters they have this phone playay
30:24
conversation and maybe I just came off Ling other drugs a couple movies ago but I was like am I watching a dating show
30:30
you know the flirtations the but it was directed very well it was edited very well it wasn't too schlocky or corny it
30:37
was just enough like yeah he's a warm-blooded male she's a warm-blooded female they're both talking to each other and there's some sort of you know
30:43
Jack's like I'm G to go check her out I'm G to go visit her at work and ask her out for coffee it it felt very
30:48
natural and it wasn't until that well it was at the beginning but it was at that moment it dawned on me oh Ed this is Ed
30:57
this is kind of Ed's wickedness of this film and then now we're bringing the proposed or supposed biological daughter
31:02
how that plays into the film uh again the relationships you have Tom and Kobe's characters playing mother and
31:10
father to this girl so when I allowed myself to treat this pretend it was
31:16
almost comical but I think it was meant to be that they were acting like parents remember the hotel oh she never listens
31:22
to me I can't believe it's almost like a family sitcom at the whole yeah and I'm I'm sure we'll start talking about her
31:28
soon but I also almost feel like Colby was the weak link if you look
31:35
at that hotel room scene okay if you want to use the analogy of a car so
31:40
let's say that Tom Cruz from an acting standpoint is a Lamborghini okay and it feels like that
31:47
scene the performance is the Lamborghini driving through S streets the
31:53
Lamborghini needs to open up and be on the highway going 80 M an hour
31:58
and it felt to me like Cruz's performance in those
32:03
scenes suffered because I don't know if he was trying to bring down
32:10
his performance to match the flatness of col's performance but for me the balance
32:17
just felt off to me and and that's fair it it felt to me like I was like wow it seems like Cruz is in rehearsal mode
32:25
more than full-on performance mode I know you're not a huge fan of her but you talked about Anne Hathaway on The
32:30
Love and Other Drugs episode right she's a really really good actress and I give
32:36
me that that yes okay you can almost imagine in if you drop an actress of her caliber into that scene how much better
32:43
that dance might have been because Cruz will take it as as high as you can but I
32:49
also think he's a smart enough actor that he's not gon to expose you as well and and you know no that's actually
32:57
great you're right yeah Co you know it's funny I I
33:02
dislike the way as a I don't it sounds terrible I don't know either one of these individuals from Adam so I'm just
33:09
it's it's fine to think somebody isn't like genuine and if you think they're disingenuous or or anything like that
33:16
but it's funny when you were talking about her you know I'm from from New Jersey and halfway actually is from that
33:23
area I was dating a girl at 20 some years ago and we used to go around parts
33:31
of Jersey and watch high school productions and at the end of the year they would give out this Rising Star
33:36
reward oh and one of the claim to fame was that Anne hathway had come from the
33:42
rising star program so that's why she's always been on my radar there was sort of a connection to her and it seemed
33:48
like her I don't know how connected an Hathaway is but it's always cool to see
33:54
somebody make it that isn't like a neppo baby or didn't I mean this was a
34:01
girl from Jersey that ended up starring in Blockbusters which it doesn't always
34:07
happen you're normally you're Linked In somehow you know somebody and for Anne hathway it always seemed to me her
34:14
Talent coupled with a lot of other things including her physical attractiveness got her where she is have
34:21
you seen love other drugs not yet yeah you'll see her new Thro enjoy that she
34:28
as we said in that episode she is naked quite a bit and she's fantastic she very easy to look at I I'll give her that and
34:34
but you're absolutely correct Craig I would be lying to say that Kobe smolders
34:39
is not a better actress than an hathway that's a very interesting thought experiment to put an hathway in this
34:47
film boy because you're right you're absolutely right that whole
34:52
interpersonal relationship with the two between her and Cruz and playing up with the parents the pretend daughter it
34:59
would have been elevated with an you're absolutely right she would have tackled that better Kobe funny enough is from Vancouver which is right where I'm from
35:06
that same neck of the so maybe I relate to as a fellow Canadian but
35:11
objectively Kobe smolders is not an actress that I've enjoyed and I as an
35:16
actress I think I think she's a sweet here's the funny thing and halfway better actor but I would rather have
35:22
coffee with Kobe so yeah and no and she's fine like I mean I she's fine she's no but she's also good on like how
35:29
I met your mother but then it gets to like the whole discussion about like TV actor versus movie actor they're
35:36
different they're different skill sets so I think she might just fall into the category where it's unfortunate but it's
35:43
a good unfortunate because she's you know made Millions from being a TV star for you know 10 seasons she was good in
35:49
that I love that show I watched every episode but she and her H what was the guy's name that always the narrator dude
35:55
like the guy who the character's name was Ted Ted right that's right Ted Ted and Kobe's character were my least kind
36:01
of favorite of of the four main characters I enjoyed them but I enjoyed you know in fact Alison Hanigan is the
36:09
reason why I start watching I'm I've watched him Buffy of course the American Pie films but I was a Buffy ftic and I was I've been in love with her since the
36:15
Buffy films the franchise so I followed her career like really she's doing a sitcom I'm sure I would have watch
36:21
Allison in a weekly sitcom why not but it turned out to be genely a good show but Kobe funny enough was never really
36:28
never truly made me I don't know I don't remember being like laugh out loud like
36:33
oh I love her again sweetheart of a person nothing against her this is my long way of saying she felt out of place
36:40
here it felt a little bit miscast and did they go for the lowest not low that
36:45
um yeah well here's the thing like we said everyone's name on this bill is Affordable that's what I'm
36:52
trying to there you go everyone is Affordable and Kobe at this time probably just got off How I Met Your Mother close to so she's you know a
36:59
pretty big sitcom so there's a bit of a draw to see her in this she's doing Marvel films too as a side character so
37:05
there's a bit of a draw with her but she's more affordable than in halfway did they hire Kobe to keep the
37:11
budget down great yeah sure and this also gets to like Tom Cruz as producer because he produced this movie as well
37:17
so when you're looking at the budget and the money you have to work with it's like okay we might not be able to spend
37:24
a lot of money but let's find appropriate people for the roles also at
37:30
the same time I'm like we're making a sequel to a a movie that did okay we've got the name recognition already you
37:37
know Scarlett Johansson isn't going to bring anything e extra to to the box
37:42
office because she's in it you know what I mean like it didn't like Tom Cruz is the draw here like people are gonna go
37:49
see it because oh it's a sequel to Jack Reacher th those are like two things that are getting asses and seats so it
37:56
it doesn't need to be a a loaded Marquee no so this budget was the same
38:01
as the first film so in a weird way that's that's not very common that the sequel of a franchise will have a lesser
38:07
budget than the first film so what does that tell you they save money on cast
38:13
yeah yeah but also that might explain why there wasn't a third film like for whatever reason they just didn't get the
38:19
returns that they were hoping for and they were like hey we'll make a sequel but we're not giving you one and a half
38:27
time the budget of the first movie you know it's like if you want to make it here's the budget go to town there was
38:33
talk and whisperings that they would they would do it but it's always about hey it's a business about money that the
38:38
second film made a little bit back not enough to Warrant a third film with the trajectory of such was it's going to
38:44
keep going down with each film so when you open up Paramount plus they have the different
38:49
categories and it feels like the last two or three months the two Jack Reacher
38:56
films are in their like most watched category oh wow and then also if you go
39:01
to like the action it'll be like all time Cru film in like the most watched it would be like whatever Mission
39:06
Impossibles are on Paramount plus the two Jack Reacher films and then top gun
39:12
Maverick I mean people are watching those movies but then at the same time it's like well they've got the Jack Reacher TV show now which basic a
39:19
different network it basically it killed killed any chance of there being
39:25
another Cruise Reacher movie because if anything Amazon will probably make a
39:31
featurelength Jack Reacher movie in the new Reacher Universe if you look at the Hellboy movies the first Hellboy movie
39:38
came out did whatever it did but then it did great on DVD right so that allowed
39:43
them to do the Golden Army or whatever and it almost feels like that effect
39:48
isn't allowed to be in play here because they've already made other movies you know so it's kind of funny that Reacher
39:55
is doing great streaming numbers but there's no way to capitalize on it unless a lot of people are going back to
40:01
watch those movies because of the Amazon show and then there's like that's what I was gon to say you just took that out of
40:06
my mouth yeah I think in a weird way people are like oh Tom did this film franchise like I guess I heard about
40:12
that and I think if they're able to just put this way I hadn't seen the first film and the second film since I watched
40:20
the first two seasons of the TV show recently and so when I went back and watched the film starring Tom Cruz once
40:26
I race like a it's a different yeah it's a different actor I'm used to different actors playing Batman Superman joker I'm always able to like okay it's a
40:32
character it's a different actor playing the same character Tom does a good job embracing the character and
40:39
so the character is and the way he acts is not foreign to what you see on the TV show so so both actors play the novel
40:47
character fairly well like I'm not Jarred by the behavior of Tom Cruz's portrayal going back and watching the
40:52
films after watching the current TV series I I can I can piggyback off that because we didn't really talk about the
40:58
be the the opening of this movie and I think the opening of this movie is really cool
41:03
because it drops you right into things it starts with the cops arriving on scene there's like two or three bodies
41:11
strewn in the parking lot and the Witnesses are like man those guys got destroyed the cops like who did it and
41:17
they're like him and you see Tom Cruz from behind sitting in the diner and then you get that whole setup where
41:24
Reacher has this confidence because he says in the next 90 seconds two things are going to happen that phone's going
41:30
to ring and you're going to be in cuffs and the thing I like about the scene is it alludes to a previous sort of
41:37
Adventure that we're catching the end of yeah so it's almost like fil between the films yeah and then also it gives you
41:44
for people that don't know the character it's a good introduction to the character is it's like okay
41:50
obviously he has the ability to take out and severely injure people in a you know
41:57
a parking lot brawl but then also have this confidence in this bravado when he's dealing with this corrupt sheriff
42:05
or whatever it's a great opening I almost wish that we would have gotten like a little short film on the DVD or
42:11
something even if it was five minutes to show us the leadup to it well that's the advantage of doing these TV series Vice
42:18
the films I find they're able to I don't know why I guess it's just setups or set
42:25
pieces because they're able to do eight of TV in a year they wait four years between films and I'm like why is that
42:32
why are they able to do a very well done show on Reacher Eight Episodes and you know good action sequences sure they not
42:38
have any huge explosions and buildings collapsing but why like I think movies
42:44
need to figure out how to meet that middle ground of serialized TV and or
42:49
quicker releases of movies like four years between films probably didn't help it either yeah and I wonder if there's
42:56
another book in the series that that opening scene is yes it yes it did it oh
43:02
is it oh yeah no it's good good question so yes it was based on uh a book called
43:07
one shot I believe this film never go back but they did say that the opening scene was based on the end of another
43:13
book sorry this was actually based on never go back my apologies yeah yeah one first movie that's right but that
43:21
sequence of the trafficking was actually applauded in another book so they kind of oh that's cool I might have to check
43:27
my library for that so that's what I like about they they say true to the book stay true to the characters I guess so yeah so if you're a Jack Reacher fan
43:34
of the book series and you're in the theater you're like oh this is the end of the 16th entry in the series or
43:40
whatever oh that's cool it's like a little Easter egg maybe what I was going to say was if you watch the movies
43:45
because of the TV show because it's pretty well done I that's what it meant to say maybe was that you're watching Tom Cruz's performance and once you get
43:52
okay it's a different actor playing it the character is the same is what I'm saying you're not Jarred by the film
43:59
experience having watched the TV show cuz I did that I watched the movies again after the TV show I was like oh
44:04
yeah it's the same character yeah you could drop that dude from the TV show into the opening scene of this movie and
44:10
it would feel completely appropr yeah if you like somehow AI CGI Allen's
44:15
character as a doing everything Tom does in that film but it's his body you wouldn't be confused by the movie it it
44:22
would be Jack Reacher yeah yeah all right so well we've talked a lot about Tom so Kobe back to Kobe serviceable but
44:30
I agree with your an hathway better actress would have made probably would have made the film a little bit better I hate to say because a lot of it was
44:35
relationship stuff and Kobe fun sweet personality I'm sure she's a sweetheart of a person but yeah
44:43
t-shirt too she looked great in the t-shirt and but I think she might have been above her pay grade a little bit
44:49
I'd imagine Tom Cruz is a hard person to to act against because oh yeah it's Tom
44:55
Cruz and yeah and to her credit she did it like that I I would bet if you were
45:01
to interview her and she was honest let's just or just ask her like friend to friendless say like hey was it nerve-wracking being around Tom
45:09
probably because he's intense not in a mean way he he's old business he's the First on set last leave he's there he's
45:15
producer he's the boss of the film he's like yeah yeah again to me it feels like he's sparring as opposed to straight up
45:23
boxing yeah good point in those scenes at least now Tom Cruz what are your thoughts just
45:29
overall I guess with Tom back in an action sequence type film he does everything he's supposed to do in this
45:34
movie The Other aspect of this is unlike the first movie although we did have the
45:41
the lawyer character in the first movie but that Dynamic was different here
45:46
right there was more of an ensemble to work with so I think the focus wasn't as
45:52
much on him so he was able to sort of just be another character on funny they bring that up because they talked about
45:58
if a third film was going to be done it was going to be even more of an assemble piece yeah I almost wonder if well yeah
46:05
I mean Jack Reacher you always have to have the Jack Reacher character but yeah that's interesting because if
46:12
you remember like what like that is it the fourth or the fifth Mission Impossible movie where he
46:18
climbs the tallest building in Dubai or whatever or the tallest building in the world that movie it it feels like they
46:24
were setting that up where like Ethan Hunt could have been like okay I'm off
46:29
to go enjoy a quiet life cuz it feels like they set that up for all those other characters you know what in
46:35
another universe or another timeline there might be like the Jeremy rener you know Paula Patton
46:42
series Ryan laugh like sure oh that's a great sequence that's
46:49
one reason why my son loves Tom so much he appreciates that he does the stunts even as a young viewer he thinks it's so
46:56
cool that this is Tom on screen I love that about Tom Cruz too he's not going
47:01
to be able to do it forever even Jackie Chan had to bow it eventually your body just doesn't do it anymore it's unfortunate but uh okay so I'm gonna
47:09
play you the first snippet we have here from edwick mouth regarding this film
47:14
Jack Reacher never go back which Tom Cruz and I made in 2016 fizzled at the box office I blame myself and my willing
47:22
accomplice Don Granger for thinking the audience might enjoy a man up of Jack reer and paper moon when in fact they
47:29
just wanted more red meat thoughts on that assessment it it was by m critique of
47:36
the film so to hear him address that is you know I didn't
47:41
want I I know the film but I don't know what it's about what what what Ryan O'Neal and Tatum O'Neal father and
47:48
daughter oh the father daughter issue okay oh I yeah okay that was the criticism you brought up so he pointed
47:54
that out that's out but it was based on a book that had
48:00
that but it wasn't as much in the book I guess he leaned into it you know he leaned into it yeah yeah that's a yeah
48:05
that's that's funny very it's very astute that you brought that up as a criticism and so did Ed so good job on
48:11
that yeah maybe if they had picked a different book you're right it might have made a few more million sure fair
48:17
enough at the beginning of the episode I talked about how many times I've watched this movie in the last year like when I
48:23
watched it again last night after having just watched it two weeks ago I didn't groan and say oh my God I have to watch
48:29
this movie again I sat down and I watched it and I enjoyed it there's certain movies I won't do that for yeah
48:34
if I watched a two weeks ago I'd be like you know what I'll remember enough to talk about sure you know but this movie
48:39
I was like you know what it's not GNA be a a bad two hours of my time it was my
48:45
first time watching it since it's whatever DVD releaser at the time 2016 or I maybe streaming back then maybe
48:52
eight years ago but uh yeah when I was watching like oh this is better than
48:58
maybe I remember or people gave it credit for because it's a very good maybe we I've seen some really crappy
49:04
action films lately but it was just I was just like yeah this is a fine movie The acting's Good the action sequences
49:10
are fun I'm following the plot along my kids are even enjoying it even those very talky at the beginning I was getting a little bit worried I like well
49:15
is there much action in this F I can't remember but they they were still engaged they were following the storyline they were listening and what
49:21
we said before about what people are experiencing Craig on streaming would indicate that people are watching it so
49:26
maybe it's just one of those things that things get better with time like it was just release at a weird time who knows
49:32
what the public was doing at that time because it seem I didn't see in theaters and I don't remember why I mean there
49:37
you go I just didn't I mean I saw the first one in theaters and admittedly my life is was different in 2016 than it
49:44
was in 2012 I was living in a different state and I was single when the first one came out engaged when the second one
49:50
came out so I wasn't going to the movies as much as well I didn't see this movie
49:55
until years later okay I think there's I think there's maybe two more Clips one
50:02
for sure I had a wonderful time working with Kobe smoulders and I certainly don't blame Tom he was great in the
50:08
movie he just wasn't 6'2 as the novelist Le child had described his protagonist
50:14
and should Tom happen to call about making a third movie together I'll definitely pick up so he mentions the
50:20
the it's funny that he brings it up because obviously the first film would already come come up it's interesting that I think he recognized the right on
50:26
the too I think he probably read the scuttlebutt on the internet too but it didn't hurt the first
50:31
film but it didn't help it I think I guess another another layer of despite
50:36
Cruz's best acting and best or whatever like all the all the oomph that he puts in his films he can't over unfortunately
50:43
you just can't overcome height it's just a reality of G DNA yeah by the way Lee child has a cameo in the first movie
50:50
he's like a desk clerk Tom Cruz and the lawyer character the girl from Gone Girl
50:56
I forgot her name name and they have like an interaction Pike Roseman Pike yeah she's also from a Bond movie so
51:02
there's a scene between the two of them and there's like a desk clerk there I don't know if it's a cop or or somebody
51:07
and he pays off the joke there's a joke and then he kind of looks up nods his head or whatever that's Lee Child okay
51:15
okay now it's interesting brought up Kobe and again I told you I think she's a sweetheart of a person her acting this
51:20
film is serviceable it's fine it wasn't bad but it just felt she felt or looked or performed a little bit of Fish Out of
51:27
Water like carrying an action film with Tom Cruz it just it it didn't quite land
51:33
though she gave it a all but I like how Ed did say she's a sweetheart person and keep in mind his last big actress that
51:39
he worked with was Anne hathway which I think he had more of Trouble with so I think he just had to throw in Kobe was
51:44
great she was sweet and Tom gave it his all now before we move on to I think the last clip of
51:50
this one I think there I think there's one more I will say Tom back to his acting again he's just a darn good actor
51:57
the end of the movie when he saying goodbye to his you know not his daughter but they're having that goodbye I
52:03
thought he did great saying goodbye to this young actress with playing his daughter I love that goodbye secret it wasn't hokey it wasn't corny it was
52:10
actually quite moving Tom's jaw clenching the the look in his eyes about how as Reacher he's like I can't show
52:16
like I this this shouldn't be affecting me you know I've killed people with my pinky and this girl has gotone into my
52:22
heart a little bit and when she says like you're probably disappointed not your daughter he's like actually I'm I'm or you're probably happy I'm not
52:28
your daughter yeah yeah no you could tell there was a little bit of like disappointment that he wasn't her yeah
52:34
he was like it could have been a mission I could have done this is another mission in life so to speak but I thought Tom's acting and the hug at the
52:40
end there was great and it was funny I forgot if they hugged or not so they were like I'm like come on well they
52:46
have to slide the phone in there there's multiple sliding the phone into the pocket gags in this movie so I watching
52:52
the film with my kids and I'm like come on Tom hug her and then she walks away and I'm like oh crap I they hug and then she came running back like I knew what I
52:58
said like but they do this big hug and I thought I don't know I thought it was a great Direction Ed that's what Ed is
53:05
good at he's good at the emotion stuff and oh yeah and she she had the single tear the Denzel single teer came out of
53:11
her like Ed he loves to get that tear out of his actors and so apparently he whipped her too apparently behind the
53:18
scenes just but yeah I should have done a single tier count from the Eds of films okay I think there's one more clip
53:24
here if not we'll Alan Stewart and Alex Soros knew how much trial by fire meant to me okay no
53:31
that's it that was just the two okay all right so that is it from Ed's book there
53:36
Craig for you to hear regarding the films this is your last film to do on the Ed's Wick podcast I know I talked
53:42
about before in a previous episode or two that I was going to maybe do some of his movies that he wrote or produce and
53:49
I'm American Assassin American Assassin I won't say I'll never go back I'm excited about another project that I
53:55
have Rolling In My Head about another director that I quite enjoy but another one that I enjoy for just for a couple films but I want to explore the ones I
54:02
haven't seen and do you want me to spoil it do you want me to tell you Terrence mik oh wow that's not gonna
54:10
be a really long series though he's got what 11 10 or 11 it's the same idea he's got a couple documentaries too so that's
54:16
why I kind of wanted to do that it's almost like a very Ed wikian type career where yeah do you don't have 2530 films
54:23
but the films are all interesting in a weird way had the big break of course for 20 years between two films and yeah
54:30
I don't want to talk too much well I can tease a little bit Yeah The Thin Red Line was when I got first introduced to him as a director and I was like I love
54:37
that film Beautiful film I know saving prior Ryan the dday the D-Day Landing is
54:42
what it is I get all that stuff but boy be on board for the uh for the for the
54:47
new world oh great film so yeah but there's a couple of his recent ones I just haven't seen yet just because of
54:53
timing and this and that I know they didn't get even ially received very well but I want to see why same idea so yeah
55:00
Terence Mal is one I want to tackle but doesn't mean this is so if you're listening to this and you have it in your podcast feed I'm just saying the
55:07
main show is you know theater like his 13 films he did for feature film but bonus episodes I will suspect they will
55:14
come so don't cancel your feed folks we still have one more film to do trial by fire with Doug for the final film but
55:20
Craig before we close I will of course do your link Tree on our episode people can see everything uh your doing but
55:26
your main show right now do you want to talk about your podcast you're doing right now yeah it's probably my my last
55:32
podcast uh it's called the goat dama and basically every episode I present my
55:39
case as to why Brian dama is America's greatest living director yeah we started
55:45
the new year with a a fresh episode and by the time you listen to this there's
55:50
probably two more episodes in 2025 nice and it's a really great show
55:56
in my opinion you've been on it before I'm looking forward to you coming back yes we still have more movies and scenes
56:02
to talk about but yeah basically every episode I let my guest pick a movie and
56:09
a scene from that movie to help us sort of just explain why Brian dama is the
56:16
director that he is and we did a great episode together on The Untouchables yeah I love it yeah it was your it was
56:23
your podcast I want to say again if anyone listening to this or they forgotten it was your podcast that you're doing with Brian dma that
56:28
literally triggered I want to do that with a director and Ed Wick was the first one that came to mind so it was
56:33
because of you your show now I might be on this director Journey with other directors
56:39
that aren't the Steven Spielberg that aren't the Christopher Nolan or even the Quint Tarantino I I kind of wanted to do
56:44
these other directors where people are like oh they did that film yes they did that film too that I enjoy so edwick
56:50
falls into that I think Brian does too people like oh he did Untouchables he also did the other you know whatever other films he so I mean right there
56:57
it's like the guy that made The Untouchables made carry but then he also made scarfed it's like those are about
57:03
the three most different movies you can you can think of like yeah the guy that
57:10
does glory did Pawn sacrifice exactly exactly yeah I love it all right well that's great well thanks for coming on
57:16
and we will be doing we may do a bonus episode yes there are there well sounds like we're doing
57:22
American Assassin with Craig but like I said if you're listen to us on the feed don't don't give up on the feed it just the bonus episodes won't be monthly as
57:29
all so but we they will come out so thanks for uh joining us on this again the next episode TR by fire
